The Horrible Consequences of The GOP DHS Policies
I met Christopher in the first couple of weeks that I began standing outside of the Broadview ICE Detention Facility in Broadview, IL. He was in search of his brothers whereabouts after he was abducted off of his work truck in Chicago. The final outcome was that his brother was deported to Mexico leaving Christopher and their mother alone to navigate without the primary income of their families economy. As a result: there is little food in the refrigerator and as it stands right now, they are officially two rent payments behind. They were told that the eviction process would begin if they were unable to provide their landlord with the October and November rent. They are just one of many stories to be unfolding across America at the hands of the inhumane and cruel policies of the Trump administration with the majority Republican Party aiding an abetting. This is no longer a country that I recognize. I have started a GoFundMe for Christopher and his mother. Please consider donating whatever you can. Any amount helps.

Thank you for keeping us updated on the ongoing atrocities in metro Chicago. This is coming soon to all of our communities. Which is why I intend to bring this issue up at my local city council meeting on Monday evening. I plan to find out if my local leadership intends to do their Constitutional duty to protect their citizens, regardless of race or immigration status. It's a small, but important step. And I intend to keep asking the question at every one of their meetings until I receive a satisfactory answer.
